On 21 August 2024, UNSW SMaRT Centre Director Prof Veena will help deliver a commercialisation and IP masterclass at UNSW for the Defence Trailblazer program, a joint University of Adelaide (UoA) and UNSW defence research commercialisation initiative.
The Intellectual Property (IP) and Commercialisation Training Program is designed to showcase the true value of research impact.
It offers university academics and professional staff comprehensive insights into IP and commercialisation options, along with available support to maximise the commercial potential of their research.
Veena will share her research commercialisation experiences and insights, following years of successfully developing various UNSW SMaRT Centre recycling technologies.
EOIs are now open for a two-hour masterclass delivered by leading UNSW researchers including Veena Sahajwalla and Innovation and Commercialisation experts (Trevina Naidoo) along with industry partners who have extensive experience commercialising research (Robert Dane from OCIUS Technology Limited).

A two-hour masterclass will be delivered by UNSW Innovation and Commercialisation experts, and research leaders in conjunction with industry partners who all have extensive experience commercialising research.
Participants will review university IP processes and examine real life IP scenarios. Through a lessons-learned approach, this session will also provide insights into various IP discussions and scenarios that can occur during university-industry collaborations.
