The UNSW SMaRT Centre and its Director have been developing technologies and products in relation to waste and and resource recovery over many years. These innovations have resulted from extensive research into materials science and engineering by deploying selective synthesis of waste materials.
Veena and the SMaRT Centre have pioneered what they call the ‘science of microrecycling’ as they seek to develop new ways to address society’s growing waste and recycling challenges with innovations that can boost manufacturing capability and reduce waste.
By treating waste as a renewable resource, the SMaRT Centre, through its ‘mircorecycling science’, researches innovative approaches and technologies to reform various waste streams into value-added materials and products, creating not just postiive environmental impacts but social and economic benefits.
The menu list on the right provides details about technologies and products developed by Veena and the SMaRT Centre.
