On 15 February 2023, Veena will deliver a keynote address at the GreenPort Congress Oceania Conference dinner.
Veena will discuss the importance of creating a circular economy in all sectors and especially in the shipping, ports and logistic sectors to reduce impacts on the environment and create greater sustainability.
She will highlight key industry collaborations across her research programs and explain how waste is and should be used as a resource in manufacturing and supply chains, creating new jobs and other economic, environmental and social benefits.

Hosted by Port of Newcastle - Australia’s deepwater global gateway, the largest on the nation’s East Coast. The event will be attended by 150 key stakeholders and professionals from the shipping, ports and logistic sectors from around 30 countries.
