With a PhD in Material Science from UNSW - Australia and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Nirma University, India - Irshad Mansuri is working as a Research Operations Manager at the Centre for Sustainable Materials Research and Technology (SMaRT) at the University of New South Wales.
Irshad is involved in the centre’s research related operations matters and is managing all laboratories. He is working closely with SMaRT centre’s director and assisting research staffs & students for their relevant research projects and also coordinates with industry partners along the R&D process. He runs technical training programs for students and researchers, is responsible for the set up and management of all labs and equipment.
From his PhD on “Recycling waste polymers as a source of carbon in steelmaking: Fundamental high temperature investigations on structure evolution and carbon dissolution into molten iron”, Irshad has in-depth research knowledge and practical experience in the research area of recycling of waste materials and developing sustainable technologies for sustainable recycled produces.
