Ravindra Rajarao completed his PhD on environmentally friendly and economically beneficial processes to synthesise carbon nanostructures and their applications. In 2013 he joined the SMaRT Centre as a research associate and has since published several papers in leading journals and presented at conferences internationally. His research currently focuses on environmentally and economically sustainable processes to transform electronic wast e (e-waste) to value-added materials.
He concurrently collaborated as a Research Fellow for a Defence Research and Development Organisation sponsored project on carbon nanomaterials and their application in energy field. He has published 15 research articles in international journals and has presented at 12 national and international conferences and meetings. In 2013 he joined the SMaRT Centre as a Research Associate with Director, Scientia Professor Veena Sahajwalla.
Ravindra is collaborating with the Australia-India Strategic Research Fund (AISRF) project on the 'Novel approach for processing electronic hazardous materials'. The Commonwealth operates the AISRF which supports Australian scientist, from public and private sectors, to collaborate with Indian partners on leading-edge science and technology in order to contribute to Australia’s economic, social and environmental wellbeing. This project is a collaboration between the Australian multi-disciplinary team from the SMaRT Centre and India's Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology, Bhubaneswar; the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi; and the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
