Science 50:50 is a mentorship program to inspire young women to pursue a career in science founded by Scientia Professor and Laureate Fellow Veena Sahajwalla at UNSW Australia.

Scientia Professor Veena Sahajwalla is a vocal supporter of encouraging young women to participate in STEM subjects. She is Founding Director of the Centre for Sustainable Materials Research and Technology (SMaRT) and also leads the Science 50:50 project at the University of New South Wales.

The campaign, launched in March this year, asks a simple question – since half of the population is female, why not half the scientists and technologists?
